Join the Conversation on Gender, Care and Discrimination in Leprosy – we invite you to an online discussion on Friday, 27 March 2026 at 13:30.

This conversation aims to strengthen rights-based approaches and deepen understanding of gender dimensions within leprosy and NTD responses.

Moderated by Beatriz Miranda Galarza, UN Special Rapporteur on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons Affected by Leprosy and their Families, this session will bring together experts from the United Nations and the World Health Organization.

The discussion will explore how gender, caregiving roles, and discrimination intersect, shaping the experiences of persons affected by leprosy (Hansen’s disease) and their families.
