Global Medical Affairs Director, Leprosy Program, Global Health & Sustainability, Novartis

Sunil leads the Leprosy Program at Novartis, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. His career has been largely with Novartis, alongside roles in clinical research organizations in the field of medical affairs, clinical development, drug safety, regulatory and submission writing, and scientific communications.

Prior to managing the Leprosy Program, Sunil served as the Clinical and Medical Lead for Fascioliasis, Leprosy, MDR-TB and Non-Tubercular Mycobacterial infections. In this capacity, he played a key role in drug development, overseeing clinical trials and the product life cycle. He also led regulatory and submission writing efforts, managing teams in Hyderabad (India) and Shanghai (China). Throughout his career, Sunil has gained expertise across various therapeutic areas such as Neurology, Immunology, Cardio-metabolic and Infectious Diseases.

Based in Hyderabad, Sunil holds a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Medicine from Hibernia University in Dublin (Ireland) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (M.B.B.S.) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India.
