Research Capacity Building for Leprosy Healthcare Staff

Leprosy expertise is needed at the most critical level: the point of care. Demystifying research and supporting a learning culture empowers healthcare staff to address issues faced at their level, using their own data sources. Nepal’s Lalgadh Leprosy & Health Services Centre (LLHSC) trained healthcare staff on basic research concepts and methods to further individuals’ development of research projects. The hands-on and participatory approach allowed for healthcare staffs’ ownership of their research and effective translation of expertise to action.
