SDR-PEP Webinar Series: The Role of Persons Affected in SDR-PEP Implementation

The Global Partnership for Zero Leprosy, along with WHO Global Leprosy Programme, launched an SDR-PEP-focused webinar series. The first webinar in this series explored the process of starting SDR-PEP implementation for National Leprosy Programmes. The second webinar addresses the need for SDR-PEP and the role of persons affected by leprosy in successful SDR-PEP implementation. The webinar takes place on 1 December, 12:00 – 13:00 CET.

Hear from the International Association for Integration, Dignity, and Economic Advancement (IDEA) in Nepal, the Special Rapporteur for the elimination of discrimination against persons affected by leprosy and their family members, and National Leprosy Programme Managers from GPZL country partners.

The webinar includes a presentation on SDR PEP, perspectives of persons affected by leprosy, and discussion on collaboration between National Leprosy programmes and persons affected in implementing SDR-PEP.

This webinar answers the following questions:

  1. What is SDR-PEP and why is it needed?
  2. What is the role of persons affected individuals and organizations in successful SDR-PEP implementation?

We welcome you to join us for this webinar. We especially encourage the following individuals to register: National Leprosy Programme Managers (NLPMs) interested in starting SDR-PEP and in improving their collaboration with persons affected organizations; organizations of persons affected by leprosy interested to know more about SDR-PEP, and interested in finding new avenues for collaboration in reducing transmission of infection; and other interested persons in the leprosy community and the broader global health community that would like to learn about a framework for collaboration and mutual support between a group of persons affected by a disease and a national programme fighting that disease.
