Dr Ritu Ghosh appointed Executive Director
The Global Partnership for Zero Leprosy (GPZL) is pleased to announce Dr Ritu Ghosh’s appointment as Executive Director. Based in New Delhi, India, Dr Ghosh will lead in the execution of GPZL’s strategy and support the partners towards achievement of our global objectives and initiatives.
Dr Ghosh brings a visionary and resourceful approach, demonstrated through her successful design and execution of multi-million-dollar public health programs across Asia and Africa. She has driven advocacy initiatives and mobilized resources through institutional partnerships with bilateral, multilateral agencies, corporates, foundations and individuals. Her recent career has included pivotal roles such as Global Director of International Programmes with Operation Eyesight Universal, and Asia Technical Advisor with Nutrition International.
“Dr Ghosh’s appointment marks a significant milestone in implementing the ambitious agenda of GPZL, focusing on policy advocacy, resource mobilization, program execution, and innovative growth strategies,” comments Dr Peter Steinmann, Chair of GPZL. “Her expertise in strategic planning, policy advocacy and research, resource mobilization and financial management, organizational leadership, and digital innovation will be pivotal in advancing GPZL’s mission. Of note, Dr Ghosh has worked for the Indian leprosy control program in an earlier phase of her career.”
Committed to establishing benchmarks of program excellence, Dr Ghosh will collaborate closely with public sector, private sector and NGO partners, ensuring measurable impact through rigorous research and implementation strategies. With a PhD in Social Work specializing in health and nutrition and over 25 years of dedicated service, her knowledge and leadership will provide the impetus to drive GPZL forward in pursuit of its strategic goals.
