Detection & Treatment
This theme focuses on sustaining early detection and prompt treatment of leprosy. It is a comprehensive topic that includes: issues of active case finding, availability of diagnostic tools, practices that concern screening, and other examinations. It also includes timely and effective referral of patients; capacity of health and other staff; and community involvement and training to maintain a high level of services. These aspects, as well as program management that ensures sound supply, reporting and recording, should all lead to early detection and treatment of leprosy patients.
