Involvement of General Health Care Staff in Implementation of Leprosy Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (LPEP)

Leprosy post-exposure prophylaxis (LPEP) is an innovative intervention, implemented in Dadra and Nagar Haveli in India from April 2015 to June 2018.  Local general health care staff, state leprosy officers, medical officers, and community volunteers who were accredited social health activists (ASHAs) were involved from the beginning and throughout the project to help ensure sustainability of project activities and buy-in/ownership of general health care staff for scale up. Related tools include Quality Counseling by Health Care Staff for Giving Supervised Single-Dose Rifampicin to Close Contacts of Index Cases (LPEP) and Quality Screening of Contacts of Index Cases in Leprosy Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (LPEP)
